What to Do if a Scheduled Post Fails

Troubleshooting common publishing errors.

Common Causes of Failed Posts

  • Disconnected channel β€” the social media token expired. Go to Channels and reconnect the affected platform.
  • Image too large β€” most platforms have a max file size. Keep images under 8MB.
  • Caption too long β€” Twitter/X has a 280-char limit; Instagram allows 2,200. The editor will warn you if you exceed limits.
  • Platform API outage β€” rare, but Meta and TikTok occasionally have downtime. Check their status pages.

Retry a Failed Post

Go to Scheduler β†’ Failed Posts (shown in red in the calendar). Click the post and select Retry Now or reschedule to a new time.

Enable Failure Notifications

Go to Settings β†’ Notifications and enable Post publish failures to get an email alert whenever a scheduled post fails.
