What to Do if a Scheduled Post Fails
Troubleshooting common publishing errors.
Common Causes of Failed Posts
- Disconnected channel β the social media token expired. Go to Channels and reconnect the affected platform.
- Image too large β most platforms have a max file size. Keep images under 8MB.
- Caption too long β Twitter/X has a 280-char limit; Instagram allows 2,200. The editor will warn you if you exceed limits.
- Platform API outage β rare, but Meta and TikTok occasionally have downtime. Check their status pages.
Retry a Failed Post
Go to Scheduler β Failed Posts (shown in red in the calendar). Click the post and select Retry Now or reschedule to a new time.
Enable Failure Notifications
Go to Settings β Notifications and enable Post publish failures to get an email alert whenever a scheduled post fails.
